Musings on Ms. Spears
So this is a few days past now, but I wanted to comment on this past Sunday documentary on Britney. Anyone see this on MTV (Britney:For the Record)? They followed her for the past two months, getting ready to put out her album, the photo shoots, video rehearsals, all that stuff. She’s looking so much better than she had been over the past year, and yet, it was so sad. She clearly needs a tight leash, as evidenced by the downward spiral she had previously been on, but she is so unhappy that it’s heartbreaking.
I’m not the only one who noticed this, it was pretty much impossible not to, but Jezebel had a post, complete with perhaps the most tragic clip of the episode here.
All that being said, I’m enjoying her new album! While far from musical genius, she really does make fun music; perfect for putting on while sipping a vodka tonic and determining which shoes to wear out and whether you should be changing into the push up bra for your night out. Definitely recommended!
